Wooden canoes have an universal aesthetic appeal, a perfect mixture of fine artwork and craftsmanship. They are full of symmetry, elegance and natural beauty. It’s no wonder that people are often reluctant to put them in the water and opt to hang them above the mantle piece instead. We are always happy to work on custom canoe designs and we are pleased to have worked with interior designers on bespoke projects.
Canoe Table, Paramo Directional Clothing:
We were commissioned to make a wooden canoe table by Outdoor clothing brand Paramo. They were looking for an eye-catching piece of furniture for their flagship store in The Lake District.
We made a wooden stand for the canoe table and had toughened-glass inlaid to serve as the table top. Throw in a little artwork featuring the Paramo condor and they had a one-of-a-kind piece of custom canoe furniture.

Restaurant re-design, Bull’s Head Restaurant:
We were contacted by an interior designer to build four scaled-down canoes that could be hung from the ceiling in a similar style to a Ralph Lauren store they had visited in New York. We made four 11ft canoes with 40 ribs in each one. The inside of the canoes were stained a mahogany colour giving them a vintage look. The outsides were painted to co-ordinate with the rest of the restaurant.
We were delighted with the outcome as was the designer. If you find yourselves at the Bull’s Head in Hale Barns, Manchester you can book a table under the canoes and see them for yourself.
Joey & Chandler Canoe, Friends TV series:
We were asked to provide a canoe for a Friends-themed party. The party was being kitted out by Props company Prop ME UP, needless to say they had created a full Friends set including central perk cafe and both of the famous New York apartments. We created a scaled-down canoe with a flat bottom to sit on the floor. All that was left was a careful paint job to create our replica of the famous Joey and Chandler canoe. We have no idea what happened to the canoe after the party. Photos coming soon
